China’s KFC announced on its official Weibo that it will launch plant meat burgers in some stores.

The plant meat burger is tentatively available for one week, from October 12 to October 18, and it will be sold out. The cities tested are also limited. At present, only restaurants in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Wuhan are available. In these cities, only some stores participate in new product activities, and customers need to check the list of active stores in advance.

There is only one kind of plant meat hamburger, but there is also a set plant meat meal. The hamburger is a plant meat beef cheeseburger with a price of 35 yuan and a membership price of 32 yuan. The set meal includes the above hamburgers, plant chicken nuggets, and Pepsi, with a price of 43 yuan and a membership price of 39 yuan.

The above membership prices need to be obtained in the local KFC app in China. The number of coupons is also limited. There are 5000 Hamburg coupons and 5000 package coupons on a first-come-first-served basis. In addition, there are only 75000 plant meat hamburgers and 100000 plant chicken nuggets. KFC is not considering selling these products for a long time.

It is worth noting that in April this year, China’s KFC launched plant chicken nuggets. The introduction of the plant meat burger not only extends the range of meat from chicken to beef-these are obviously two different plant meat products, but also extends from tasting fresh snacks to staples. This may indicate that KFC in China has further strengthened its determination to try to launch plant meat products.
