September 26th, Cainiao International, a logistics company owned by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, announced that China-Europe logistics has doubled in speed in the first half of this year compared with last year.
At the beginning of this year, the company launched the “European acceleration” program, which took half a year to achieve 10-day cross-border logistics from China to major EU countries.
At present, Cainiao European overseas warehouse order has achieved the fastest same-day delivery, most of the 3-day delivery. Nearly 70% of Chinese cross-border parcels in Spain and France are delivered steadily within 10 days.
Data shows that online sales in Europe increased by as much as 13.6 billion euros in the first and second quarters of the year. Cainiao European overseas warehouse sales data also showed a 12-fold increase in orders in September compared with April.
Prior to this, Alibaba’s Q1 financial report for the fiscal year 2021 showed that during the reporting period, Cainiao’s global parcel network opened more central European trains and aviation lines, and cross-border charter flights increased against the trend, from 40 to nearly 150 vehicles per week; the global supply chain supports one-click delivery by overseas merchants, and the import center warehouse is expanded 20-fold a year, covering more than 10 ports.
Cainiao International’s main customers are Chinese merchants on AliExpress, an e-commerce platform of Alibaba Group, which can be seen as Taobao for overseas consumers.
The layout of Cainiao International in Europe means that European AliExpress buyers can receive their purchased goods more quickly.
AliExpress often uses a variety of different delivery methods, and they often have different delivery speeds and prices. The higher the freight, the faster the speed.
