Shuanghui launches protein bar and nut bar products

During the shopping festival, Shuanghui launched two new products: protein bars and nut bars. At present, both products are first in the Shuanghui Tmall flagship store.

The specification of the protein bar is 22g*8 * 4 boxes, the price is 101.9 yuan, the discount price is 57.9 yuan. The specification of the nut bar is 22g*8 * 4 boxes, the price is 136yuan, the discount price is 67.9yuan. Both bar-shaped snacks claim to contain 22.7g of protein and 8.6g of dietary fiber per 100g, making them highly nutritious substitutes. There is also a large package with an original price of 369 yuan and a discount price of 298 yuan.

The main ingredients of protein bars include coconut meat, cashew nuts, and Chia seeds. Nut bars are richer, with almonds, walnuts, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, cranberries, raisins, quinoa, and chocolate. Both snacks use maltol for sweetness and both claim to be preservative-free and trans-fatty acids-free.

Shuanghui is a well-known meat brand in China, but in recent years, Shuanghui has significantly accelerated its expansion. In April this year, Shuanghui launched artificial meat products. The brand restaurant plan was put forward in June, and the substitute food product was launched recently. It is worth mentioning that Shuanghui ham sausage itself is a highly respected substitute meal in China, and its most high-end ham sausage products are models of high protein and low fat.

WH Group is currently the world’s largest pork producer, developed from Shuanghui, China’s largest pork processed food brand. In 2014, Shuanghui Group formally changed its name to WH Group, after it bought Smithfield Foods, the largest pork producer in the United States, but in the Chinese mainland, Shuanghui remains its main trademark because people have eaten Shuanghui ham sausages for more than 20 years.

In recent years, energy bars and substitute food products are on the rise in the Chinese market, and many energy bar brands have launched promotional activities during Singles’ Day. In the category, protein bars and nut bars are also more common product types. Shuanghui’s new products need to experience fierce competition if they want to succeed.
