Nestlé Professional opens an experience center in Chengdu, aiming to serve Sichuan cuisine.

On September 11, 2020, Nestlé Professional opened its fourth customer experience center in China, located in Chengdu. Together with experience centers previously opened in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, Nestlé Professional has covered all regions of the Chinese mainland.

In an interview with the media, Nestlé Senior Vice President Altug Guven said that one of the important reasons they chose to open the Nestlé Professional experience Center here is to serve Sichuan cuisine.

Chinese traditional cuisine is divided into eight major cuisines, and Sichuan cuisine has become the protagonist in recent years. Altug Guven said: “I like Sichuan food very much. I also mentioned that I like Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage and Chili very much when I had dinner yesterday, and the hot pot is also very good.” If you really want to know about Sichuan cuisine, it is not enough to be in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Chengdu is close to the ingredients of Sichuan cuisine, the original market, and the initial consumer culture, which can provide more help for understanding this market. ”

Nestlé Professional is simply the seasoning and ingredients line of Nestlé. It provides restaurants with soy sauce-like seasonings, such as the Maggi series. It also provides a wide range of dairy products for the cake industry and the coffee industry.

Chengdu is the birthplace of many well-known Sichuan food brands, which sell their products to the whole country in two ways. One is to open chain stores in other regions, and the other is to sell instant Sichuan food through e-commerce.

If the seasonings produced by Nestlé Professional can win the favor of these brands, they will be able to follow Sichuan cuisine into many Chinese families.
