Luosifen is so popular in China that they plan to build a theme park

Luosifen(Snail Rice Noodle) is a snack originally produced in the southern Chinese city of Liuzhou. It is a unique rice noodle that uses sour bamboo shoots and snails to make up the soup base. After the fermentation process, sour bamboo shoots give off a unique stench, which is more smelly than stinky tofu, another traditional food in China.

Luosifen has a history of hundreds of years in Liuzhou, but its real popularity is due to the 2013 documentary a Bite of China. After the documentary was shown, Liuzhou rapidly developed a real-time prepackaged Luosifen industry, making this food, which used to be eaten only locally, popular across the country.

In recent years, many Chinese-style instant food is on the rise, and Luosifen is one of the stars.

For overseas diners, the first acquaintance of Luosifen may come from the introduction of Li Ziqi. The YouTuber from China once released a video about Luosifen. In fact, because of the popularity of Luosifen, she also began to sell instant Luosifen named after her own brand in China.

Sunac China Holdings Ltd, a famous Chinese real estate company, announced that it will build a Luosifen theme park, stadium, and children’s park in Liuzhou City, according to a report by The Paper on October 14, 2020.

The town plan of Luosifen, which will include amusement park, commercial street, waterscape area, Luoyang powder factory area and residential area.

Sun Hongbin, the founder of the company, visited Liuzhou in May and told reporters: “in the past, I had the impression that Liuzhou was an important industrial town, but when I came, I found that Liuzhou was very beautiful. The development of Luosifen industry in Liuzhou has been remarkable in recent years. The first time I ate Luosifen was in Shenzhen. The first time I ate it, I thought it tasted strange, but the second time I ate it, I thought it was very delicious. The more I ate it, the more I liked it. So I think the promotion of Luosifen in Liuzhou is very successful. There are rice noodles all over the country, but Luosifen is indeed a phenomenal product today. “

This is not the first time that Luosifen has boosted the local economy. According to previous reports, Luosifen has created 250000 local jobs and created more than 6 billion yuan of GDP.

By the end of June 2020, the export volume of Luosifen has reached 7.5 million yuan, which is 10 times that of 2019.
