Chinese science fiction master Liu Cixin’s “Full Band Interception” will be adapted into a movie

According to 1905.com, a project has been set up for the film “Full Band Interception” and will begin filming in 2021.

The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by the famous Chinese science fiction writer Liu Cixin, the author of the science fiction novel The Three-Body ProblemThe Three-Body Problem has become the most famous Chinese science fiction in the world, and it has been reported that it will be made into two versions of TV series by Tencent and Netflix.

Another previous novel by Liu Cixin, “The Wandering Earth” was adapted into a film and released in the spring of 2019. The film has achieved amazing results at the box office, temporarily ranking third in Chinese box office history.

As a science fiction novel, Full Band Interception was first published in 2009.

Unlike the main works of Liu Cixin, such as The Wandering Earth and The Three-Body Problem, the scale of full Band Interception is smaller. The story stage of this work is hardly detached from the earth, and its story setting is limited to the existing conflicts of human beings.

The novel describes that in the near future, modern and automated weapons make the war crueler and crueler, and finally the defender, as the protagonist’s point of view, creates a giant EMP, through a technical means, which causes semi-permanent electromagnetic interference covering the entire solar system, bringing the human war back to the era of cold weapons.

Although mankind has lost radio technology since then, it has significantly reduced the cruelty of war.

There are two versions of the novel, one in which the protagonist is China, and the other in which the protagonist is Russia. In both versions, the imaginary enemy is the United States. According to the current message hinted by the screenwriter on Weibo, the film will use China as the protagonist instead of Russia as the protagonist.

According to reports, Chinese independent screenwriter @Dr_Baa participated in the screenwriting work of Full Band Interception. He was previously known for using Minecraft to produce the independent animation “Mine Three-body Animation”.

The film is made by UEP, which also produced Wolf Warriors 2 and The Wandering Earth.
