According to Chinese tech blog 36kr, Bytedance, the parent company of TikTok, confirmed today that it would be launching a Vehicle Internet business.
Bytedance plans to launch its own in-vehicle entertainment system solution to enable its TikTok and Today’s Headlines apps to integrate into vehicle dashboard.
It was revealed that the primary R&D team for the business is from the former Smartisan Technology, a Chinese smartphone company founded by the famous Chinese entrepreneur Luo Yonghao. In 2019, Bytedance acquired some of the patents and team of Smartisan Technology. Currently, Smartisan phones are attributed to Bytedance.
At the same time, the Bytedance official website has also put up job postings related to Vehicle Internet, and there are currently two positions available: senior product manager and senior business manager.
